Admixtures Part Two – Plasticizer Admixture

Admixtures can be natural or man-made chemicals that are added to concrete during the batching process or during the mix process while on site.  The four most common admixtures used in ready mix concrete are water-reducers, plasticizers, accelerators and air-entraining agents.  In this four-part series we will look at these admixtures, how they’re used and when they may be appropriate for your commercial or residential concrete project.

Arrow Lakes Ready Mix is proud to offer Master Builders, BASF products for all our chemical admixtures.  MasterGlenium 3030 “ready-to-use full-range water-reducing admixture is a patented new generation of superplasticizer based on polycarboxylate chemistry.”  Essentially that means it’s a good fit for concrete with high flowability, high-early and ultimate strengths and increased durability are needed.

How Can MasterGlenium 3030 Work For You?

There are times when access requires a pump to get your concrete where you need it to go, and with the addition of MasterGlenium you can see enhanced pumpability combined with enhanced finishability.  In addition you will see increased compressive strength and flexural strength performance throughout the curing lifecycle.  Arrow Lakes Ready Mix includes MasterGlenium 3030 in all their standard mix designs with additional admixture for your pumping needs.

“MasterSet DELVO meets ASTM C 494/C 494M requirements for Type A, water-reducing, and Type F, high-range, water-reducing admixtures.”
